From Scott: The Joys of Being Me

Wow, this is amazing. This is my first post to this here blog. First off, I wanna say thanks for inviting me to the group so that we can all keep up with each other. That's important with how we're all spread out (literally) halfway across the world.

So, what's going on in the world of Scott? I'm currently in my last semester at the University of Louisville. I'm graduating in May with my Master of Music, which means yes, I'm writing my thesis right now. It's a large-scale orchestral work entitled "Apokalypsis: The Throne Room." It's a rough musical depiction of Revelation 4. You all should check out that chapter - pretty amazing stuff. Also, I'm working as a graduate teaching assistant for the composition department, which translates into me having 7 private composition students this term. Lots to worry about apart from my own academic pursuits.

Anyway, that's about all I have time to write about for now. More to come at a later time. I promise.

Blessings,
Scott

From Josh: Oi y'all!

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I posted on here. How are things with y'all? Things are going well here. Christianity Explored, our protodiscipleship program, kicks off tomorrow. I'm really excited about it and the people who are coming. Another piece of awesome news is that Daniel, the guy I'm discipling, is getting baptized in two weeks! God is amazing! Anyhow, I hope you all are doing well.

From Josh: Prayer Needed!

Hello everyone! How are all of you? I'm all right. I'm at New Staff Orientation right now for Church Resourch Ministries (the missions organization I'm involved with) out here in California. It's nice to be out here and enjoying the dry heat and the change in location. Anyhow, I was wondering if you would be willing to pray for me. The situation is this. RE: Hope (the church plant) needs me back ASAP. I need to be at 90% of my funds raised before I can get back. Right now I'm about $1000 short of 90%. I would like to be back in Scotland on October 15. Would you guys please pray that God would miraculously provide the necessary support in a timely manner? Thanks! I hope everything's going well with y'all!

From Josh: home in IN

Hey Y'all! Nothing much to report, just wanted to say that I'm back in America. I got back Sunday evening (just in time to be jetlagged for the 4th ;-) ) Anyhow, now I have to start the arduous process of raising support so I can go back in October. If you guys would be willing, please pray that God would send the needed support my way, and that process would be smooth. Thanks! I hope everything's going well with y'all!

From Josh: 2 Timothy 4:7

Hey all! For those of you who have known me for a long time, you will most likely have a hard time believing this, however, for those who are curious, I do have pics. Anyhow, for the past 2.5 months I have been training for the Edinburgh, Scotland 2005 marathon. The marathon was yesterday and I finished only having to walk mile 24 and mile 25. I feel a bit drained right now, but very very good. Hope everything's going well with y'all.

From Josh: hey!

Hey Y'all! I know I haven't talked to a lot of you in a long time, sorry about that. First of all, my congratulations and prayers to Sarah and Silas on their marriage. Also, congratulations to Susan and her beau.

Right now I'm living in Glasgow, Scotland about to come home (on July 3) and finishing up my first "year" of NieuCommunities. NieuCommunities is a 10 month apprenticeship program in which 10 people go to Scotland to live together in a missional community and learning about how to serve God and live Christ like lives in an increasingly Godless culture. God has done amazing things in all of our lives this year. It has been incredible to watch Him move all of us from a place of selfishness to relying and depending on Him and each other. We have also formed tight bonds with each other, basically becoming each other's family. This was really apparent on Christmas, since none of us made it home. Another really cool thing that happened this year was that we got to plant a church in a church building that hadn't been used as a church in over 50 years. (a lot of church buildings over here are either used for pubs or schools) We started out very small, but have been steadily growing. Anyhow, what have the rest of you been up to?
